New to Pilates

I have never tried Pilates. Where should I start?
The Welcome Offer gives you two classes for £30 within two weeks. Try a Reformer class and a Mat class to see how each one feels. You can also book a one-to-one Intro for £65 if you want a private lesson first.
Do I need to be fit or flexible?
No. Pilates builds both. Our classes are mixed level, and the teachers will modify movements so you get a class that fits your body. We have first-timers and twenty-year regulars in the same room every day.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable activewear you can move in. Grippy socks are required on the Reformer (we sell them at reception if you forget). Bring water. The studio provides everything else.

Classes & passes

How big are the classes?
Reformer and Tower classes are capped at 8 people. Mat classes can be slightly larger. Either way, you will get individual attention.
How long are classes?
Most classes are 55 minutes. The 60+ Mat classes are 60 minutes. Full timetable lives on our booking page.
Do my class credits expire?
Yes. Drop-ins and 5-class packs last 2 months. 10-class packs last 3 months. 20-class packs last 6 months. The Welcome Offer is 2 weeks. Expiry is shown at checkout.
Can I share my pack with a friend?
Class packs are personal and non-transferable. Gift cards are the right way to share the practice with someone else.

Bookings & cancellations

How do I book?
Through our booking portal on bsport. The link is on the Book a Class button at the top of every page. You can also book through the bsport app.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 24 hours before a class for a full credit refund. Cancellations within 24 hours, late arrivals, and no-shows are charged one class credit, or the drop-in rate if you do not have credits.
Can I get a refund on a class pack or membership?
Unused portions are non-refundable, but we are reasonable. If something exceptional has happened, email reception@thereformery.co.uk and we will figure it out.
Can I freeze my membership?
Memberships can be paused for holidays or illness. Just email reception at least 7 days before your next billing date.

The studio

Where is the studio?
Arch 436 Avenue Road, Forest Gate, E7 0LA. We are two minutes from Forest Gate station (Elizabeth line and TfL Rail). Free street parking on Avenue Road outside of peak hours.
Do you have changing rooms and showers?
Changing rooms, lockers and a single shower. Plenty of mirrors and somewhere to leave your bag.
Is the studio accessible?
Ground floor entry, step-free access. If you have specific accessibility needs, email reception and we will make sure your class works for you.

Specialised sessions

I am pregnant. Can I keep coming?
Yes, with the right class. We have prenatal-trained teachers and recommend you book privates or our pre/post-natal sessions rather than the general timetable, particularly after the first trimester.
I have an injury. Should I come?
Usually yes, but start with a private. A 1:1 lets the teacher assess what is going on and set you up to join group classes safely.
Do you teach over-60s classes?
Yes. 60+ Mat classes are paced for older bodies, with modifications built in. Drop-in is £18, 5-class pack is £80.
