— About

A studio built on craft.

The Reformery opened in Forest Gate to do one thing properly: teach Pilates with the precision the method deserves, in a room that feels worth showing up for. Voted Best Pilates Studio 2025 by the Evening Standard.

From practice to studio.

Rachel Stephenson opened The Reformery after two decades of teaching, building a studio that captured everything she had learned about how Pilates is best delivered: small classes, careful teaching, equipment kept in great condition, and a room that does not feel like a gym.

Today the studio is a small community of regulars, drop-ins, beginners, athletes, parents, dancers, desk-workers, and everyone in between. We teach across Reformer, Tower, Mat, Barre and Jumpboard, with specialised pre and post-natal sessions and one-to-one work for anyone managing an injury or returning from one.

If you have not been in, the easiest first step is a Welcome class. Two for thirty pounds. Pick the style that catches your eye.

Book a Welcome class

Three principles.

01

All abilities, all bodies

Most classes are mixed-level. Our teachers modify so that whether you walked in today or last decade, you get a class that fits your body.

02

Precision over performance

We are not here for show reps. Smaller, smarter movements done well will outpace big movements done badly. Every time.

03

A room that feels like yours

The studio is warm. The light is good. The kit is kept beautifully. You should look forward to walking in.

Teachers who actually teach.

Every teacher at The Reformery is fully certified, has years of experience, and continues to train. We are small enough that you will get to know all of them.
